Best green fig

Hi folks another newbie here. I have an Italian black and want to try a green. Hope this isnt a unrealistic question, but I am looking for a green fig, closed eye, red to strawberry flesh suitable for Sugarland TX 9b. Here is what I found could anyone help me rate them.

Rmali
Green ischia
Verte
Paradiso
White Greek
Stella
Verbal longue

Almost forgot would like 2 crops. Any advice would be really appreciated.

I would add Jh Adriatic for taste. Verte is also very good for taste. For a large green with pink flesh try Latarolla. Unfortunately I'm not anywhere near Texas so cannot comment on which would do best in that climate.

Thanks. Jh Adriatic ? Is it different than just plain Adriatic? Seen that one.

I got Adriatic on my wish list.  How is it different from JH Adriatic?

varying opinions I think it's cleaner re fmv, not sure if there is a difference in flavor

Well, it's on my list, and I do not fear FMV, so on my list Adriatic, plain and simple stays!

JH Adriatic tastes like dark berries.

I think it is important when selecting a green fig to separate out the "berry" flavors from the "honey" flavors. These are the two major differences (to me - some others may argue). I don't like the honey flavors, I like the berry flavors.

I have a fig to Greek White, tastes like watery honey. Meanwhile, Verte and Green Ischia are supposedly similar (or the same) and have been said to be similar to Adriatic. My JH Adriatic tastes like dark berry jam... Very different flavors, and I'm not a fan of the sweet watery-honey-like figs....

JH Adriatic is an awesome white fig and should be in any white fig list for trial,or else you do not know what you miss!

Had my first JH A, a couple of days ago. Wow was it good, like getting kicked in the mouth by a berry.

LOL tastes like a fig to me, a very rich sweet one

Wow!! So far JH Adriatic is clear winner. But no comments at all on Paradiso or Rmali. Any ideas ? By the way I'm like satellitehead, I like the berry flavor

There are others too Vasilika Sika and Ventura come to mind. Oh geez, I just ate Blanca de Maella and it was awesome. Jh Adriatic is usually available some of the other premium whites are harder to find. You will be happy with JH Adriatic

Thanks.

Where can I buy that JH Adriatic

I'm also interested in purchasing a JH

pretty sure Jon has some. Email him _ Pitangadiego click on his user name and click on send email.

Thanks Bob C. I have to say of all fruit lovers it seems fig lovers are the most passionate!! Great site even better people

Thanks to everyone that contributed. Really learned alot. Special thanks to BobC. Still trying to get with Jon (Pitangadiego), but hope to soon.

Don't forget Battaglia Green.

Alma does very well in the Houston area.  While the trees mentioned have excellent reputations, I don't think a tree which is known to produce (and Alma produces) in the heat and humidity of a Gulf Coast summer should be discounted.  To that end, I would also suggest Smith.

Thanks James. Will place on my list as well.
