Thank you Barry.  You warned me about its (Lattarolla) strong growth.  Started cutting on 1-26-13, didn't note when up potted to 1 gal (probably mid-March) and into 3 gal nursery pot on 5-3-13.  55 gallon water barrel in background for reference.  Might eventually air layer this one to force it to a more branched growth.

Mine has grown similarly. Just crazy growth in one season!

Steve another option, you can cut at height you want to get side growth as has apical dominance at the bud tip forcing growth up and not lateral.
To stop that one cuts the top bud suppressing the auxin flow and sending it downwards for lateral growth.

Steve, your tree looks great! Thanks for posting the pic. Very nice to know that you have had such success. Latarolla is an excellent this one fig for growth and production, I'm sure you will love the fruits once it starts producing.
