Best Labels

I've used many types of labels. I tried metal labels, and the ones you write on and push into the soil. These are my favorite. 2" x 4" ULine plastic tags with wire attached. I use my iPad and the Avery app to type out the labels. Then I print my own weatherproof labels and stick them on the plant tags. I can ID the variety from 20' away.

Weatherproof shipping labels. Love it, love it, love it! Did not know they even existed. Thank you!

How about ink fading? Is there a uv resistant ink or doesn't it matter so much? Thanks.

That was my #1 concern. I've had a label inside of my dishwasher for a year with no fading so I know it is weatherproof. It has gone all year in the sun with no fading so I think the UV protection is good. At least so far so good.

Thanks! I bought an aluminum tape imprinter which you can't read from any distance, and have it on a couple trees but your idea would be great for quick identification. Thanks for the response.

Great idea.

Have had so many issues with perm ink fading in the UV that I switched to the write on metal tags... so far so good....

I assume you are using a laser printer, not an ink printer?

Yes. Must be laser. If you don't have one Staples can print them for you.
