best pot fig for atlantic coast FL - right on ocean 7 floors up.

My mother lives in Cocoa Beach, Fl, right on the coast, 7 floors up.  Plants don't do well and she thinks it's from the salt spray.  I told her to block it with plastic sheeting.  She wants a fig plant.  Any ideas what would work well there?  Maybe 1 light, 1 dark?  Thanks.

I live pretty much in the same zone as your mom, just on the other side of the state. On the light side I would try a LSU Gold. On the dark side I would go with a LSU Scotts Black. Most of the LSU releases do well here in central Florida. I grow all my figs in pots. So, it goes without saying they would require annual pruning. PM me here if you would like a couple of LSU Gold cuttings to root for her. Say hi to your mom for me from a fellow Floridian.

I live few miles from your mom..
Salt is a problem here..
About which one grow well here..
From black Marseleise VS..
White..Long yellow..I think this two more easy here..

Thanks!  I got some LSU gold from Jon so I'll root one extra  :)  I think I got a long yellow - I'll have to check.

No, that was Norm's yellow I got.
