Best tasting fig of the Year

My favorite fig out of my collection, last month figs have been completely round very different than last season and its the only fig I have that almost feels like it tastes better as the temps start to cool down. In the last month figs have been excellent.

Bronze Paradiso Picked Last night

Nelson,

That looks tasty, very tasty.

I have a Paradiso but don't know anything else about it accept that I purchased it about a year and half ago for G. Morle at figtrees.net.

I'm hoping it's same as yours.

Nelson
Is this the one you got from Dusan?
I am asking because I had received one from Dusan last summer and it is growing well and it fruited the first time this summer but late and have to wait for the next summer or fall to taste the fruit.

Rafed this Bronze Paradiso is a different fig than Joe Morle's Paradiso. My plant was given to me by Dusan who was the one that collected cuttings in Italy and since has shared a few plants with a few forum member's across canada. This particular fig also produces allot of Twin's two figs per node.

Akram my plant is now 4 years old and every year produces and ripens allot of figs. They usually start ripening from 3 week of august all the way up to mid to late october here in Toronto. Im sure you will be very pleased with this fig when it starts producing.

The inside looks a lot like St Jerome, Black Weeping, Gazir, and maybe 1-2 others. By looks, it ought to be good.

Congrats Nelson for such a blessed year for figs in your zone. BTW anyone has all 4 sources(Gene's, Adriano's, Dusan & Morele) of Paradiso ?? Would be wonderful to know how each of these variant rate against each other. I have all 4. The Morele's tree is only about 8" tall and the other 3 known sources started producing late as this year fig season was just too cool & rainy. There was no chance for these figs to ripen. I am sure such info are most welcome.

Thanks Paul yes it sure was a good year for me got to taste allot of figs on my 1st year plants. The Bronze Paradiso is the top dog again this season, I also have a Paradiso "Genes" but its still in its first season hopefully in the next season or two I will sample a fig from that too.

Nelson, is it possible to get couple of cuttings from your tree (Bronze Paradiso)? Will pay shipping by PayPal upfront. My son is so into growing figs, he is 10. We build little winter greenhouse for citrus plants. So those cuttings will be in good hands rootening over the winter.
With respect, Dmitri (New Jersey, USA)

Dmitri I cant make any promises yet as I have promised cuttings to a few fig friends but I will definately try. Will let you know in about a months time.

I guess Jon wanted to make sure that Nelson becomes aware that "The inside looks a lot like St Jerome, Black Weeping, Gazir, and maybe 1-2 others. By looks, it ought to be good."
