Beware the dear sweet mother

Hi All just a little warning about leaving leaving your dear sweet mother alone in your house with your young fig cuttings while on holiday please inform them about the[ dead ] sticks in your garage /shed or wherever your plant nursery is explain to her that they are NOT dead but just sleeping
  OR THIS MIGHT HAPPEN TO YOU i planned a nice break for me & the wife 5 days in the sun in Spain ask my mother to look after the house while we was away i  FORGOT to explain about the [dead sticks] i asked her to water the trees & other plants while i was away
We had a great time on holiday came back home alls well then my mother turned round and said oh i had a bit of a clean round while you was away THREW OUT ALL THOSE DEAD STICK THAT YOU HAD IN THE BACK ROOM MY HEART SUNK rushed into the room & sure enough all my cuttins GONE the larger trees with leaves were still there but not one of the [sticks] 105 cuttings well needless to say we had a few words but you cant be angry for long with you mother we had a bit of a laugh a bit of a cry & she now owes me for 105 fig cutting
                               SO BE WARNED 

i'm truly sorry to hear about your cuttings. i know how you feel. but i couldn't help laughing a bit x)

Now, perhaps, my wife will not think me crazy for taking bins of cuttings with us on vacation.

Oh that is terrible. I think I woulda had a little fit. But of course mom meant well. I always hold onto apparently dead sticks for a long while with the hopes of some popping out, buet it sounds like these were freshly potted and rooted sticks, sorry for your loss.
