Beyond my expectation- Napolitana Negra

This was the first season for my tree to produce figs. I expect they will get bigger over time. Of the ones that I tasted, what a real treat! Very nice solid fig, not overly sweet but with a rich berry tone. This one has done well under our Albuquerque climate. These were picked 09/14/16. I just picked the last one yesterday. Productive for the age and size of this small tree.

I like the slender stalk, the inside colors and the closed eye. Looks perfect. Congratulations.

Killer inside colour and no hollow spot.

Congratulations!!

I know it was a young tree, but I am curious how early in the season it started producing for you, compared with your other 'standard' varieties.

That looks like an outstanding fig, Leon.  I hope you get lots more.

I picked the first one on August 30th. But keep in mind, this is the first season for this tree so the timing of production remains to be seen in my climate. My understanding is that this variety starts ripening figs in early August.
A better description and photos can be researched from these two sources:

Beautiful figs! Congratulations!

Hi Leon,

Excellent looking fig and photos. Hope you're doing well.

Best,
Navid.

Those look really good. My Napolitana Negra also just fruited and was surprisingly good.

I have ten trees in 25 gal pots. I just picked three figs today that were 91, 96 and 102 grams.

I like the closed eye, soild center and berry flavor. I got my cuttings from Marius.

I was looking at those earlier this month. Doncentraltexas had some gorgeous air layers up for bid. Congrats to whoever beat me out for the two, I'm sure they'll do well, they were really very nice.

Looks like a great fig Leon! I have a small Napolitaine fig acquired from France... I wonder if it is the same or different?

Hi Leon.
Great looking fig. Enjoy it.

Where and under what name does Marius sell his cuttings?

Thank you all. I don't know if the Napolitana Negra that Marius is growing is from the same source.

Leon,

We'll I definitely want your strain. Looks very productive and
vigorous. :)
