Bi-colored fig

I found this fig showing two colors, a yellow and purple. This is Sal's fig.

Here's another fig found a couple days ago at Pons orchard in Mallorca, Spain of a variety called Bordissot Rossa.

Bass with those colors it would make a great LSU fig.
Go "Purple and Gold".

ps: very interesting, by the way.

Bass,

I think I got it figured out on your fig.

The 2nd pic is definitely altered.

Rafed, I tend to agree on that.  That line is way too straight, but then again........

I'm certain it's not altered I trust him. I wondered how the inside of the fig looked, said he still didn't open the fig, but will let me know.
Nature has lots of surprises.

Bass, I wasn't doubting your word or Pons, it just seems strange.

Bass, I can relate. This oddball popped up a couple of years ago in my wife's zinnia patch.

Ken that's pretty.

Piebald figs very cool.

I can say for certain that the second pic is not altered, one time a pepper was found in a 13 acre plot that was half red and half yellow, split straight down the middle the same as that fig, there were a couple others found but I say the one with a straight line on it, we never say any others like that again.

2nd picture looks like a chimera.

If it is not a chimera and other figs show up bi color, I would take a cutting, root it  and see if the bi color is reproduced. Many mangoes varieties were created like this!
Sal

I had a blooming African Violet plant once that was divided in half exactly like that,
half dark green leaves and dark blue flowers, half varigated leaves with pink flowers.
anything growing on the dividing line was exactly half of each.
it was cool! but, weird looking!
