That's good to know. Thanks for letting us know.

It may be an Italian name,or maybe ask the seller?

RED FLAG ~He sells a variety of cuttings on the Ebay "Black Russian". I can assure in Russia there is no variety of this name. Made the name up himself. To make money of an unknown name variety.

Thank you for the heads up Vladis.

It is always a good think to ask the seller Questions. My friend had gotten this from a forum member in a bundle deal or it was by a seller on eBay I have ask Her to check into this She did not name the Fig. I just help her out a little to sell some of her cuttings so she may buy others I also grow this But I do remember the details this party goes to Russia and had taken cuttings of this from their it is a Mt. Etna type of fig Any other Question we will be more than Happy to answer and I will revise this to UNK Black Russian I was email this by another forum Member

And even more careful with accusations.

First of all ... don't report for all Russia. Secondly... You can translate it as '' Black Fig from Russia'' and I don't see anything strange in it . I have also many Figs of Russian origin and without ''specific'' names. So, they are ''Russian '' figs for me . The Figs travel  all over the world and there аре hundred varieties which got their names from the immigrants who smuggled them to the Coubntry many yeras ago and are doing it even now..giving them the names of their native villages and towns . The Best part is that the Figs does not lose their taste from the ''names''  !  И вам , Господин професор пора это знатъ, хотя из Туапсе этого не видно !

The correct name of the varietal figs saves money with new purchases and exchanges of planting materials. It does not matter from which country figs.
