Went visiting my friend Eduardo who gave me a big fig. I didn't know that they could grow this big. It was a welcomed surprise. It had that figgy taste and was sweet not super sweet. I think it is probably a Desert King...What Do you guys think. They were averaging about 3 inches across...and he said they picked some earlier that were bigger.....What a Lovely Monster...LOL

Looks like a Verte/Ischia Green on steroids.  Whatever it is I want to be first on the list for cuttings.

very similar to Paradiso Gene.. i think. i don't remember how big the fig was.. it was last yr, but size ref to that quarter seems about right. inside color and the leaf shape is very close too.

Thank You Guys for the response....I was pleasantly happy with the taste....my Conadria was blaaahhh...grown in a large container....I had a small fig ready on my New Improved Brown Turkey and it was great....they say that they are great in hot climates......Eduardo said that fertilizer helps with the flavor.

Since you have the wasp none of us fig mortals will know what it is.    Desert King is as good a guess as any.

I will be driving through the Fresno area on Wednesday. Do you know of any interesting figgy places there that are worth visiting?
Close to hwy 5 or 99 would be ideal.

Greenfig....where are you visiting..????   The nurseries here have pretty much the basics, Black Mission, Brown Turkey and Kadota......

Oh... Thats sad, I am going LA to San Francisco and back.
I thought to make the trip more useful.
