big thank you goes out to very generous forum member!

this member has already provided very well rooted big cutting of Genovese Nero last year. now, i got an email from him today saying he has shipped Longue D'Aout (Melanzana Merdoscola) off today. not an air layer or just a cutting, but his back up plant!

i'll post the pix when it gets here, i'm a happy dog :)

Nice!

Nice of him, I'm waiting to get my email from that warrior. LoL

i am ashamed to admit that i don't have bigger container for this wonderful gift.. the tree came in! and it's root ball is so huge, it will not fit into my 1 gal container. i put it into 1 gal with my cutting mix for now. i'll be going to HD soon to get a bigger container and proper soil. will post the pix then. thanks again!

Pete...you do a lot for the Forum...you deserve it !!

Congratulations!   It couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.

plant it well and enjoy the fruit Pete!!

Pakistan is leading the way so far. it's pushing tiny roots out of lenticels. Illinois Everbearing are starting to put that messy white stuff around lenticel now. i'm giving one more week for the cuttings. i think by next week, Pakistan should be ready to go into cup and humidity bin. IE might take little more time. maybe two weeks or so.

Awsome ..... photos soon  ?

oh yeah.. the pix.. i'll try to snap some soon :)

ok, pictures.

the first one is Pakistan. it has nice lenticels. but no root. the end is not callused yet. the second one is 3 out of 6 Illinois Everbearing. you can see they are getting callused.

also, Pakistan is very green. it's hard greenwood. maybe that's why it's getting lot of lenticels. so far, i have not had any luck with green cuttings when it comes to figs. we'll see.
