I bought 7 fig trees from Bill last week. All in one gallon container about 4 ft tall.
Will attend on 9/7. If anyone wants to go, we can trade trees there.

bump.
[Tomorrow Saturday September 7th, 2013; event: Fig Fest #5.]

As of these last few hours, I think that will be there
(I need to buy a few small good figs too!).
This will be my 2nd time being there.

For all those that do not know; Bill self-engineered an unique
way of growing large fig trees in large self-watering-pots.

So we went, had a great time, lot's of excellent fig food, including fig pizza and fig ice cream. Bill's trees are amazing, very large and obviously very happy in his potting system. There had to be over 200 people there. As before, he had a Barbershop Quartet there for entertainment, excellent singers which is a good thing because I'm not. We met Gorgi and Jimmy Chao and his wife and son who was really enjoying those cupcakes. We had a great time talking figs and eating fig food. Some of us purchased a few trees too of course. We met a potential new member, Gary, who is fairly new to figs and very interested in becoming a fig nut like all of us. Bill really puts on a great festival and Mother Nature blessed us with the perfect day weatherwise. The ride was through some beautiful backwoods areas and neighborhoods. Fantastic day. Sorry no pics from me, I forgot my cellphone. Donna help us out please!

Wow!
Bill's fig fest #5 was awesome!
Thanks Bill for hosting this wonderful event.

I arrived a little early - plenty of people already - all new faces...
Then I see two familiar ones - Barry and the 'Jazz-man'...
I then also met Donna (Chilly in Philly) and Jimmy (with family) from the FF.
The five us had some fig-fun chats together (with Gary eagerly listening to us).

Fig food :- I particularly liked the 'Prosciutto Wrapped Figs'
- yum yum - (see attached handout scans).

I bought 4 figs trees: Alma, Black Greek, Battaglia and Negronne.
Fig tress were very seasonably priced.
Bill has very nice (tempting) trees, among them the Panache (but I had just bought one).

I wish I had brought my wife (and all family) along - that's how good it was
(a-good-family-outing/experience!).

Among many, one mama tree that caught my attention was his
K-7-11 (or was it the Kac 11-7W ??). It was loaded with
nice round swelling white figs with tight eyes...
(is it not that one of the 11/7 or 7/11 fig is a caprifig ???)

[Edit: I just found that K-7-11 (DFIC 105) is a common fig; and
that Kac-11-7W (DFIC 185) is the caprifig one.]

Another surprise for me ... I noticed one fig of mine was for sale ... GM#12 (Parsotta).

One thing is for sure; figs need space to grow nicely.
