don't the birds peck through the bag?

The 4x6's are working fine for me as well.

Thanks Bob and Pattee, good to know 4 x 6 will work. I haven't gone out to look yet today, almost afraid to do so.

Here are a couple Vasilika Sika figs in mesh bags for protection from birds. These bags are only 3" x4" and barely fig the figs. 4" x 6" should work better when they get here. No time today to shop locally for more bags 

Pete , the birds don't peck through the bags at all here, but leave one out ( I missed it) of a bag and they are on it quickly, just as it starts to turn color and is no where near ripe! 
Even keeps out the ants with no tanglefoot or alum foil and vaseline on tree.

I also have some 3x4 that I originally bought , will save those for the smaller sized figs like my Celeste. Kadota's are in the 4x6's and there's enough room.
