Martin, Bass says that Bethlehem Black is super sweet.

Did you find it to be super sweet also?

Bob

Hi Rob,
actually it was not super sweet just average.
But
to be very fair that was first ripe this fig tree produced ever .

Great pics!

I have to agree with everyone Martin.

This is one good looking fig!

Martin,
Is your Black Bethlehem from Bass? I ask because your fig appears to have a shape different from the one on Bass' website [1] and [2] as well as the one that I have from Bass (see photos attached). My eyes tell me that is not the same fig. Do you (dis)agree?

Rafed ,
its on 20x30 cement patio in full sun with some others.
But Butch who has been known to charge and knock off the patio screen door right off its track without really breaking stride would reach that particular plant in about 4 seconds its the second one off the right corner of patio.
It really a pain when he does this as i have to put the rollers back onto its track .

Hi JD yes bought from Bass in April 2010 -
looks different but does not surprise me they can look different.
Not trying to confuse you but
I have seen 2 different shapes of ripe figs on tree in my yard i have the picture.
Some years the exterior color can be different also mainly due to weather.
Also i have panache that gets stripe figs and non stripe figs on same tree but thats anothe story .
My Jolly tiger does same if i let it.

Thanks Martin.

When you have a moment, I would love to see the two different fig shapes on the same tree. Quite interesting and very cool.

Here you can see some from this older picture of mine.

A few more figs from Black Bethlehem plant.

Just transplanted  a small 1 yr old into my SWC.  Everything has taken off in them so have high hopes for next year.
