All my previous fig ID posts didn't get far to id the figs so let's see if this time would successful ...
I found a very nice fig today. The eye is closed, all the way until the fig is dropped. The ones you see on the photos were still on the tree and probably could use 2-3 more days but would be damaged by the birds so I took them off while they are still in one piece.
The skin is very thin, cracked when ripe, black with blue hue, the taste is very good! It is like a raspberry but less intense, sweet but not too much. The fig size is larger than the Black Mission (at least the Black Missions I've seen). I noticed 2 common leaf shapes, see in the photo. There is some pleasant acid aftertaste.
The owner doesn't know any history so no help there. I think could get a few cuttings if the road is properly smoothed with nice beer :)
Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!
