Black Friday - Cuttings Available

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I was able to take advantage of yesterday morning to trim my figs and get them stored away for the winter. I finished before the first icy snow of the season started. No accumulation to speak of but it was a reminder that winter is here! I cut-back my potted figs before storing them and have cuttings available for anyone who is interested. I have them in bundles of 3 pcs each for $5 and $5 shipping (I can combine shipping for small quantities). I have:

- Sal's (EL)
- Fico Trojano
- Neveralla

All were vigorous growers and producers this year.

Please send me an email (not a private message) if interested.

All out of the Neveralla but I still have a few bundles of the rest remaining.

I almost feel bad asking this because of the Sal confusion, but Sal's (Gene) is the same as Sal's (EL), right?

As far as I know, yes they are.

All out of Neveralla and Fico Trojano, only a few Sals remain. All cuttings that have been requested are set aside. Thanks.

Sals EL is a very good fig all around, hardy , sweet and very productive.

Hi Steve !
Im kinda surprised you have not ran out of them unless you had many to begin with.
This fig type is one of my most reliable ones year in and out even in bad weather related season here in my yard.
Im glad i called edible landscaping years ago on a suggestion from Belleclare and bought this plant as it was not listed on there site.

Hi Martin, I hope all has been well with you. I agree about the Sals, best grower I had this year and made many figs. By far the best tasting one I've had. They grow like weeds too! I had a lot of wood from my 2 trees after I cut them back. I left some of my other varieties untrimmed to see if I could get some figs off them ... I was disappointed by a few of the varieties I still have. Next year will be the third season for some, if they do not start to produce, out they go! I'm trying to get the collection down to a few favorites that do well in northern NJ, then I'll stick with those. Best of health!

Last call ... I have a few Sal's cuttings left. All others are gone.

Hello Steve, What else does as well as Sal's EL for you in Northern New Jersey?

Bob

Bob,

Neveralla and Sal's did the best for me this past year. I have had luck with Celeste and Martin's Unknown. Armenian did well for me also but needs a lot of heat. I have a few unknowns that have also done well.

Paradiso, VDB and Atreano sprouted really early, grew well, but I did not get figs this year but these plants are young yet.

The Fico Trojano I have was brought to me by a friend from Italy last summer. I kept it growing over winter and it produced figs several times through this season. It grew like crazy but unfortunately it kept dropping its figs. I expect it will do well after a proper dormant period this winter.

I have a few other varieties that I hope will give me figs next season, otherwise out they go! LOL.
