Wow !
Glad there is interest and good discussion although im not sure how cows and milk came into play i suspect Rafed though . ; )
On a serious note im so very very far away from an expert on figs trees and could never be , fmv and just about everything else . Im just a grower , there are no "experts" here on forum and never will be, some knowledgable ones yes .
With that being said.
Some mention they see fmv on some parts of plant but not on others parts.
Now i can only go by what i read and see in my yard .
I have seen the same on my plants also so dont feel left out. ; )
But i have read that FMV travels very slow in a plant.
It makes sense, as a tested positive FMV plant was cured by extracting the meristem and grown and tested negative for the virus.
What i also seen on some plants in yard display it early and then its difficult to spot later in season if at all. But it does not go away just hides i call it.
I have had some plants that i saw no virus in them that i could tell when young and grow real nice that season, then following season -here i am.!
What Navid mentioned about that black ischia -
plant is not a "UcDavis Black Ischia" i firmly believe without mentioning names and sources .
Personally i believe "UcDavis" has some sort of different strain or more than one of the virus in there black ischia but i dont know and will never know probably.
I have other plants from UcDavis display it but grow just fine after first year.
Also the Black Ischia 3014X that i have i have my doubts its heritage came from UcDavis in comparing it to the Ucdavis ones i have
or it does not have the same strain of the virus somehow.
There is no mottling of its leaves << bubbling>> and its not stunted .
The 3014X and the one that Navid mentions does not display the virus the same way as my UcDavis one does if indeed its the same type of virus which i will never know.
and
if you have many different types of fig plants one of them has a strain of FMV
and its nothing to worry about.
Im thinking MWYHFV
