Wow! Great job with the crazy growth. Fruit looks tasty. I've also tasted my first one from a tiny first year. Do you detect a smokey/heavy/complex flavor in the syrup as well?

Beautiful plant!

getting my first black madeira fig tree looking forward to trying them

Wow! Gorgeous fig! Also, how do you like the sips pots?

Hello Pete, would you mind sharing the source of your Black Madeira. I am trying to compare it to my Black Madeira growing out here in Southern California. Thanks in advance.

55 Gal SIP's... Nice but it looks like you have a bunch and those babies will quickly eat up space, Can I ask what you do for space amangement to accomodate a collection of fogs in large containers? GH or otherwise?

@Figinfever- Thanks, the figs were wonderful, flavor rich and complex

@Garlic_Mike- Thank you!

@rogerfwright- you're going to love this one, it lives up to all the hype

@tinyfish- yes, pleasantly surprised to have them ripened this month

@Devlsgro- Thanks! I love the SIPs, saves a lot of time in watering, on the trees with a thick canopy watered 3-4 days apart the smaller ones once a week.

@Gardencrochet- my in ground mother tree came from Keith(KK)

@tsparozi- trees are kept in the garage for the winter

Beautiful Peter. I'm still hoping to get a ripe one here

Thanks Coop hope they ripen for you. Here's my Dominick's

Thanks Ross, I got them from a neighbor who also grows figs in them.

Was it a big turnout?

I had enough Black Madeira for fig jam for the first time. I'll be interested to see if the taste carries over.
Here's 3 BMad with one CDD Noir. 3 bm 1 cdd noir.JPG

Scott, I've been told that BM is a very slow grower, and that Preto is identical but
a much faster grower. I'm looking to buy one of these, which one would you recommend
and why? Thanks

Ray
