I am in the process of doing the same thing, I set mine back a week or so because the birds pecked at the plastic and I tore some roots off in the process, otherwise about 7-8 weeks from the time I put it to the time I am expecting to cut it, do you mind if I post on mine in here later?

Chivas i would enjoy your pictures . One of the things i enjoy about the forum a lot are pictures please do post them when you have time.

This is my Black Madeira, I rooted it last march so she isn't quite a year and a half yet but anyways, I just potted her up last sunday into a 30 Gallon pot, the plastic in the top is because the foil blew off in the wind which will be replaced, but she will give me a nice little air layer for this year as a back up for winter.

Surprisingly, this year and thus far she hasn't shown much symptoms of the virus compared to other varieties so I am hoping it stays that way.

These were the only two figs at this stage so I am leaving them on to see what happens and prune everything else off as the year goes on, I really do love this plant and I haven't even tasted the figs yet.
