I'm going to have a little talk with my Black Madeira.  It has a lot of growing to do.

I am not doing any better than Meghan, mine do not want to grow period.
Marius,I positively can see your climate is way better than mine.
This year you are  showing pixes of Tacoma Violet and Black Greek.
I have both but starting from August 25 to now they only produced mediocre tasting ripe figs, and the color was earthy brown, nothing like the colors on your pixies of the said cultivars.
That tell me the local climate makes a lot of difference.
My fig trees use to make fruits of the quality you have, before 2010,but starting 2011,the Summer became extremely rainy, and extra hot in July and half August, and after changing to extra cold nights starting August 16.

Well my Black Madeira I've only had since August.  So I really can't expect too much from it yet.  But considering others that I have are growing like weeds,   well it makes me wonder why this one isn't.  It gets fertilizer just like the others.  Just hasn't taken off yet.

This fig lives up to all the hype about it ,and then some!!!!
Thanks Marius!!!!

Marius, your Black Madeira is grown in a container, correct?  If you can get these ripe in Ohio then I should also get ripe figs in Maryland.  I'm hoping for next year!

My only comment is:  I want one....... wah, wah, waaah.   Think I said about the same regarding another poster's "Black Madeira" just the other day.    Anyway, a beautiful looking fig indeed!  Sure to be on my list of cuttings wanted this winter.   Thanks for sharing.
