Black Madeira cuttings

It was time to root prune and re-pot my Black Madeira, which I did today. I also lightly pruned the top, so I have a few cuttings to offer members. Normally, I do not sell cuttings, but I've decided to ask $20 per pack of 3 for these, for a variety of reasons. All cuttings are fresh, at least 3 nodes, and some are quite thick. My tree was started 24 months ago, from a cutting that originated at Encanto Farms. My tree is healthy and vigorous. The photos are of my tree, and the ripe fig was from it last September. I am offering 4 packs of 3 cuttings. 1 pack only per request. Please PM me if you are interested. Thanks

Very nice of you Gary. Your cuttings always root easily. Here is a nice opportunity for some newbies.

Great deal for someone. If I didn't already have it I would jump on this offer.

Thanks for your generosity.

Gary,  You are a great example of the best side of this forum.  I have Black Maderia but someone will be thrilled.

Thank you everyone, they are spoken for. I appreciate the comments, too!

Great offer Gary.... Don't blink or you will miss out!

I'm kicking myself. I didn't see this til now (too late of course) and this is the fig I really wanted! Guess it's karma, I couldn't afford it right now anyway. It was really nice of you Gary to offer your cuttings at a really reasonable price to the group.

Hats off for sharing. And an amazing job shaping your tree.

I've also had success with Gary's cuttings. Don't miss this.

Very nice, Gary!
Congrats to the happy owners!

Those are some nice looking cuttings, congrats to the new owners.

Gary you're the best, glad I already have one or I would have missed it. The i 258 are doing great all 3 of them, this a picture after 24 days

any left or am I too late?

Mario, that is great to see! I thought they would do well for you, congrats so far!
Thanks Igor, Nick, Wayne and Rick.
Sorry Andrew, too late.

Andrew or Levar,  I have a cutting of Black Madeira that is from the Prusch Park conservatory.  They historically don't grow as fast as Gary's strain does...  I've been holding out, hoping for his to come available.  I can send this your way if you'd like it.

Have at it, Andrew.

I have KK's BM. Does anyone know the differences between the different "kinds" of BM regarding genealogy and growth habits?

Blue - I don't think the black madeira came from Prusch Park. I believe it's directly from Wolfskill.

  Thanks for that enlightenment, Scott.

Do you happen to recall how the B/M trees that were pruned for the CRFG exchange looked there?   ...How have the cuttings that you got at the exchange rooted for you?

I don't recall there being black madeira at Prusch Park. It's my understanding that the BM cuttings came from Wolfskill/Davis and they do their own cuttings. My BM cuttings haven't rooted yet.

To those who are still asking for these, they are gone. Really. Thanks.

FIGGARY has left the building!

I'm sure his PM's were filling up even after he was out.

Nice job, Gary.

Blue - I ordered Black Madeira, Col de Dame (Blanc), UCR 187-25, and a few other varieties from USDA for the benefit of CRFG and that is where those cuttings at the scion exchange came from.  I kept none of those for myself as I already have them.  As I recall, all of those cuttings looked pretty good.  I believe those cuttings were split up among 5 NorCal CRFG chapters and the relatively new Bakersfield chapter.

Thanks Harvey...  when all else fails, we tap into the source.  You are da man!

Hey,   that's it!      HarveyC...  Fig Man on Campus!

Just want to give a shout out to Gary for not only his super fast shipping, but also the extra cuttings that came as a nice bonus and surprise.  Thank You.
