Looking good Martin...Is this tree old enough that you'll get to taste a couple of these?luke
Hi Luke Madeira is now in 4th season but actually its 3rd growing as i lost a full season when it died complete back to ground level going into 2nd season doing the fig shuffle.Last season i let it grow wild and did no pinching off any growing tips nor crop of figs it put on.This season i take some figs off as i count the days to get estimate if they will ripen or not.Coupled with waking them up early as possible doing the fig shuffle,End of August they will be 75 days old so perhaps sometime mid September they will ripen hopefully.Link to see ripe madeira fig and the plant from last season.http://figs4funforum.websitetoolbox.com/post/Your-Favorite-Tasting-Fig-2858195?trail=100&highlight=madeira
