Yes Vinny,..  IMO it looks Black Madeira
Not easy at such early stages of plant development

Here you have a baby plant of the same cultivar, and you may compare.

 

 

The coming fruit will help to confirm this
BM figs have a unique contour specially when at their early stages
.. a flat top - redish eye and a meaty neck.

Thank you Francisco for the information . I really appreciate that. I think I'll go ahead and buy it as it's impossible to buy a rooted BM fig tree from the USA .

It is really difficult to tell with such a young plant, it could be several different things. The important thing is if the seller is reputable, when buying such a young plant.

It is Black Maderia.

Thanks mate I think I'm gonna buy it, haven't decided yet lol my mrs might kick me out of the house for buying figs every month.

Your Mrs sounds like my Mrs!  Just buy her a pair of shoes and she'll forget about the figs.  Mine does.

Lol, She's more demanding now :p :p. Last month I had a fig tree delivered and I kept it quiet, but my neighbor saw me accepting the delivery and obviously he saw the tree.Few days ago we went for a walk with my son and saw my neighbor and he asked me about the fig tree and how its doing LOl, I'm like bloody hell time for a shop around LOl . I wonder if there are any couple addicted to fig trees together...
