I was looking over my mislabled Dessert King and noticed some color in the corner of my eye. I couldn't believe what I found. A Black Maderira fig changing color.

Very nice tree. Is this the first ripe fruit from it?
In the north ,this kind of fig will get ripe if in pot,but not in the ground.In my climate here ,it is a very late ripening fig if in ground,like it will ripe Naturally on October 10.

Tom when i enlarge your picture it looks wonderful.I get mesmerized by the 7 star points of the eye and the markings on the fig skin combined .Thanks.
Black Madeira progress as of Sep 3, 2012. It looks ripe with the cracking and fig honey flowing but it's still pretty firm and the neck still is a little green.
