I planted this tree at my place of work.  My dream was in 10-15 years people would go out to have lunch in the shade of its branches and pick figs for dessert!

And where on the Central Coast are you?  I lived in both Los Osos, and in Atascadero in the 80's and 90's.  I do miss the ocean and the climate, but it just got to crowded there for me.
