Black Mission, Brown Turkey and Celeste from Lowes?

I bought a "black mission" from Home Depot a few weeks ago. It was a two foot tall bush profile without leaves. It is now densely covered in leaves. I will post a pic tomorrow.

Cool beans, we await pics.

I picked up a few of the "black missions" just to see what they really are.  Concerning the lemon fig, I have a few white Marseilles that were sold at Walmart from a different nursery in Florida last year but they were labeled as Green Ischia.  The fig is pretty good if left to get a little squishy or "jammy."  Look forward to seeing your pics Kevin.

These are pics from this morning of the "black mission" bought at Home Depot about a month ago. When I bought it, it had no leaves.

Reminds me of a "nero" I saw at Lowes a month ago...wait untill fruit for positive ID.

Kevin what varieties do you see in your area, for me it's usually only Brown Turkey and Celeste.

@lewi - The Nero I got at Lowe's last year had Yellow figs with a very long neck.  They had another this year but the leaves doesn't look anything like the one last year, I bought it anyway, who knows.

The Lowes and HD had only Brown Turkey here in the Chattanooga area in pots. HD had a display of $25 fruit trees that included some 18 inch "Nero" figs in fancy metal pots. All were broken and looked bad but were all gone a few days later. My local nursery has for the first time stocked more than the Celeste and Brown Turkey. Had LSU Purple and Gold, Hardy Chicago, Desert King, and Mission. I thanked them and believe the area around them will support the $60 4-5 foot trees. The area has turned from agricultural to $500,000 and up homes in the past ten years, Peyton Manning lives there. Or I should has a home there, I think he has three.  So I have not bought a fig tree this year.....YEA!

They use a method called pay by scan. The vendor doesn't get paid until the plant sells. This way the lazy employees aren't responsible in keeping plants alive. So I'm sure they will either get tossed or sent back and cut back.

Home Depot had the BLack Mission in pots like the one I posted a picture of up above $29.99~. Both Lowes and Home Depot had Chicago Hardy in very small laminated boxes, these plants were $9.99 and were tiny tiny tiny. They are still sitting inside the stores along with grape vines and blackberry bushes. They are beyond leggy at this point as they have been there for a solid month with zero sunlight.

I saw panache at Lowe's and vdb at HD. Was gonna grab a panache but every single one appeared to have fmv so I passed.
