I got my first main crop of a Black Triana fig. I like the taste better than my Hardy Chicago. It has now moved up to the top of the list as No.1 fig. Sweet with what I believe to be a figgy taste and juicy, also nice color. Lighter red at top to an almost black around eye. Nice size, close to golf ball size. In my eyes it is an excellent fig! Will definitely increase number of trees.

Luke, yes this is it's first summer planted in ground. It will be protected very well for winter. I can't give you an honest answer on how it holds up to the rain since this is the first year it had figs and this summer has been so dry. When the figs started to change color and ripen it was fairly dry with only a few showers. Maybe next year things will be different.

Mike, If your figs are mahogany red you may have the same fig. St Jerome looks to be more bluish in color. It's hard to say, if you could do a side by side comparison then you'd know for sure.
