I came home from Vegas where I attended my son's wedding. We left Monday and returned Friday. I checked my rain gauge to find 5" had fell. Need less to say the figs are not happy. I did pick one Blanca. It show a darkening on the skin around the eye and I figured it was souring and when I cut it, it had soured. When I left I had two Paradisos swelling and I figure they'd ripen before I returned but no, one was ripe and the other need another day or so. It was very good and yummy considering the rain we've had. I can't wait to taste it when the weather is dry.I also got to pick a Vincenzo, probably my last this year. It was perfectly ripe with a nice star split at the eye. The taste was watery, much like a watery Celeste.
Conrats on your son getting married Gene. Those figs look real tasty.
