Durio nursery mentioned it is similar to "Celeste" in terms of taste & ripening season. Can fig
members advise on their growing experience related to this strain/variety in terms of :

a. Whether Black Celeste have similar Celeste traits in dropping figs prematurely.
b. Is Black Celeste productivity similar to Celeste ?

Is Black Celeste productivity similar to Celeste? Yes.

It is very productive.  Grows nice and slow.  And the taste is very sweet.

Thanks for the info Dennis. Did Blk Celeste abort figs prematurely for you ? I enjoy Celeste figs but
the main issue is they abort for reasons unknown. Thereby making it less reliable.

No. Black Celeste does not drop figs. Neither does Big Al which looks like a Black Celeste. Neither does Malta Black or my Cato Bella aka Red Celeste.

In a drought or sever stress, some Celeste will drop its figs. BUT.....the figs come back very very quickly like nothing ever happened.
