I received this fig some years back from a generous friend who lives in Palma de Mallorca. Her name is Lynn. She was never able to provide a name for this excellent fig but called it her "green fig". Upon researching Montserrat Pons book, Las Higueras, I found out that "Lynn's Green" is actually Bordissot Blanca. In the last photo I compared the leaf from my Palermo Red (left) with that from the Bordissot Blanca (right). Some of the distinguishing features characteristic of the BB leaf is the pronounced veining and small thick leaves.
Thanks for showing the pictures Leon.
Saw your Roja post- ditto Martin!
Leon , thanks for posting the pictures. Does this fig have more of a honey or berry flavor? Pete
Pete:It has a rich fig taste and sweet. The pulp is meaty. The flavor is somewhere in between what you describe. This is the kind of fig that I personally like. It is the yellow version of Violette Sollies or Noire de Barbentane.
Very nice looking fruit, Leon. Excellent description and photos. Thank you. Best, Navid.
Lovely photos Leon, my bordissot Blanca is in it's second season and formed figs late I pulled them off I hope next season I get to sample some.
Nice presentation Leon ! Thanks for posting this, it sounds great .
Looks a lot like Panache without the stripes.
Leon, Very nice cascade of excellent picture and a very good fig! Congrats Francisco
Nice looking fig, Love that cracked skin and the neck looks cool
Great looking fig Leon! Vito
These fruits seem rounder and have a neck unlike my Panache.
