Good day, here's a fig that you don't hear too much about.  Why?  Because it takes years for the figs are edible.  Bourjassotte Grise.  My Bourjassotte Grise is about 5 years old or older.  The same is true for Pastiliere and Rouge de Bourdeaux.  These 3 trees take years before they stop dropping figs.  I planted it in my orchard 3 years ago.  I don't winterize it at all, but I use to.  It grows very fast and is one fig that has to be cut way back yearly.  I sent cuttings to some members last year.  It's a good fig.  The figs are sweet and they get better every year.

Looking good!  Looks like these have a nice tight eye.  Do you have any problems with splitting and souring? 

Hi Meghan, they don't sour or split.  They also hang on the tree longer than other.

Thank you for sharing that list!  Its really very helpful especially since you and I have very similar growing condition.  The pictures and information on the Bourjassotte Grise  is great because you are right, we don't see much about it.  Might have to try and locate on of these sooner rather than later so it has time to mature!

I'm surprised Panachee doesn't split on you, this I oiled mine on account of the cold weather and even after rain they aren't even slightly cracking near the eye, we will see after tonights rain though.  Last year one humid day split them wide open.

I picked one a couple of weeks ago from a tree I started in January.  It was pretty good but should get better, of course.
