Bowl full of Celeste?

I only have 1 variety.  All my trees originate from a cutting I made from a Celeste tree planted in the 1920's on my Great-grandparents farm in SW Louisiana.

I see now, I didnt read correctly in the first post of yours. The only Celeste I have is the Improved but I have a unknown with leafs that look alot like yours and the fruit from what I can remeber looked like celeste as well. The only hang up Im having is it taste like a peach. Does any of your fruit have that flavor to it? It was last Oct when I tasted it and it was the last 2 figs on the tree.

Impressive tree from a cutting from tree planted in the 1920s in SW Louisiana. Now I better understand the term "Heirloom Celeste" and have a measure for it.

Thanks Chapman.

Rob, I've never tasted any peach flavor on my Celeste.  Are you letting them get good and ripe?

The neighbor called me to come pick more figs.. there were tons rotting on the ground and some even rotting in the tree.  I picked one that had a red drip coming out the bottom.  Tasted it and found it had fermented.  yuk..

Picked about 3 lbs more.

I remembered to take a leaf this time.
