Braçajote - Black and White

Both Common varieties originated long ago in Northern Africa are large figs, sweet, juicy and with rich berry flavors, slightly acidic.
These trees are very prolific and seem to ripen the best fruit when growing near the sea. Mostly utilized fresh as a table fruit.

Francisco, Your pictures always make my mouth water. Beautiful as usual.

These look beautiful, I am very glad that you are always sharing these varieties in picture form and also the history/description of them, next best thing to actually be eating them.

Lovely looking figs Francisco are these more of a late season fig for you?

Thank you all for comments

Nelson,
Yes, the 'Braçajotes' are late season figs, particularly the black, which in mild and warm autumns and special attention may ripen figs through December.

Hi Lampo,
That "Braçajote" seems to be close enough to "Bourjeassotte" ... Is it the same strain ?

francisco,

they look beautiful as ever.

Thank you Pete and jds

jds,
Yes, my understanding is that they are the same variety.

Pete,
Hope you are completely recovered now and back to business.

Hi Lampo,
Do you the full pedigree of panachée ?
It is "bourjeassotte panachée" . Do you have that one growing as well ?

jds,

Yes I have.
We call it, 'Braçajote raiado' or 'Braçajote listado'.
For some reason it's not a popular variety.
