BREBA!!!

I have Breba!!  I remember the first year I had 2 but thought it was a fluke.  I don't remember any for the following 3 years.  Isn't that weird??  Anyway, I am so excited since that means I will have 2 crops of figs and there are a lot on it now!  Woo Hoo!! P3040597.JPG  P3040612.JPG

I worked out in the yard today.  I moved a Turks Cap that was pretty close to the tree - it was on the right side of the garden between the tree and the shrub, now it's in the middle in the foreground.  I have a peony that was near the corner of the raised bed on the right by the tree, moved it further north of the tree where the Turks Cap was.  In the big open space behind the Turks Cap I'm going to put in Cantaloupe and Spaghetti Squash - I hope they will help with weed control :)

looking good!  I love Turk's Cap it is so hardy and dependable in the part shade here.

Sounds like a good idea about the melons and squash, nothing like homegrown.

How awesome!!!

Thanks!  The last 2 growing seasons for me were bad and worse, I really need a good garden this year!  Of course the figs need to be good also - the garden and tree are really shaping up!

Lovevit!! YOU HAVE BREBA!!! Nice work, JoAnn! Many figs coming soon! You have a nice size yard too. And good idea on planting the turks cap. I always take advantage of "companion planting" both for weed control and for nutrients. I am starting zucchini this weekend (and other crops). Looking forward to figs soon too!
