Breba on Cutting

So I have a beautiful Yellow Greek fig cutting (thanks Marius!) that has rooted and is in the humidity box.  It has two tiny breba figs on it, which, I know should be removed to allow the energy to be put into roots, leaves, etc.

I will probably remove it, because good sense tells me it is the thing to do.  However, I just wondered: how many of you did NOT remove brebas from cuttings, and what was the ultimate outcome?

Just curious!

I have had them grow in size for a few weeks, and then just fall off

Me too I had some that grow ½ and then fell off. I guess not enough power for roots, leaves and fruit.I shoud have broken them off before.

They'll just fall off if you don't remove them.  They never get big or ripen.

Meanwhile all the energy that went in to growing them is lost.  I'm pretty demanding of my trees but even I remove the mini figs of whatever crop until the fig is way past the rooted cutting stage.  If a plant is growing vigorously and puts out a fruit in time to ripen it I will let it stay as long as the plant continues to grow vigorously.  If it slacks off I remove the fig.
