Breba season

I've been picking some of the breba crops ripening since last week. Those were all grown in containers overwintered in a cold storage.

One of the first was Weeping black breba, followed by Lynnhurst white and Matta. Now i've been picking several of the Red Lebanese. They're delicious.

Here's the breba crop of the Matta.

Today more brebas were picked, Negretta, Lebanese Red are now ripe, and delicious.

Out of about 75 potted fig trees, about 55 are producing age. This year
these 55 trees produced a wopping 10 breba!!!!!!! 2 each on Mission, Kathleen's Black and Weeping fig. One each on the remaining 4 trees. Yesterday one Mission and one Kathleen's ripened, at last. The Mission was delicious. The only slight negative was the skin was tough. Maybe on the tree too long. The Kathleen's was horrible. Insipid and tastless.

Tomorrow I will taste my first Weeping breba. Right now we are having a heat wave so maybe I'll have an abundant main crop. Lets hope!
