Breba time: My first ever breba

Latarulla (Lattarula) purchase last year from Grimo gave me my first ever breba today (Ignore the dates on the pictures). The rain in the last few days had`soaked it well so it was not very sweet. This was the only breba on the plant and I guess it might have slowed down the start of the main crop since those figlets are small.
The last two pictures are latarulla. The First (green) one is Bifara breba still a few weeks away from ripening.
(I know photography is awful)

Congratulations on your Breba !

Congratulation,on your success.
It is a true accomplishment to get ripe fruits so early in your climate wich is far north, and with so cool weather.
Happy Gardening!

For lattarula to taste great, leave it till the skin is almost crummy with brownish spots. Mannnn, its awesome then. I have another lattarula ready now but I will leave it for another 2 days before I pick. Shall take pictures. I ate the first one for the season & then told the wife how great it tasted for my birthday. Others that are ripening are my Vicenzo, Large Dark Greek, Adriano, Negronne and Grimo's White fig .

Congrats Ottawan!

let us know what are your next figs that will ripen

I should have my first crop of figs in the next 2 to 3 weeks. My Pied Boeuf and Celeste are probably going to be the first to rippen.

Ottawan,

I also wanted to add that it was a great thing that I sent you a cutting of the Pied Boeuf even if it did not survive.  By cutting off a portion of the branch if forced the tree to grow several new branches. On one side of the tree the ''older branch'' that I did not touch is growing but it has not produced secondary branches.

Pinch the first branch at appropriate length to force the secondary branch(es) if it is delaying branching. It has worked for me.

Good point. However, I think I am going to leave it as is. The ''older'' branch has been getting thicker and it will of better quality to use for cuttings for people on the waiting list.
