Brebas are setting

Spring seemed to arrive here a couple of weeks ago, and the figs are waking up. I'm always interested in varieties that produce a nice breba crop, and thought I'd share a few photos. Last year, RdB, Lampeira, Rob's Genovese Nero, and Desert King gave excellent brebas. Looking forward this year to also get some from Grise de St. Jean and Albacor Communa, and a few others. A few pics from today.

Cool

Wonderful!

Nice gary. We have had a early spring as well
I have around 30 in ground and most are braking bud. Going to be a great season.

Very nice !!!

That's great, Gary! Nice photos, thanks for sharing.

Most of my figs I got in the last year so only a couple brebas last year, but I'm looking forward to some of the same varieties this year. :)

Yes, we have spring....we skipped overcwinter completely. I have a feeling we will soon be into summer so get ready!!

Nice ones-shows the love you give to your trees.

Beautiful pictures Gary, wishing you the best of luck with all those scrumptious brebas!

All of the ones I started a year ago are still in pots in my backyard.  I also have a Peter's Honey that's about 4 years old. All of them here in the SF Bay Area have now broken bud and are leafing out.  As Gary had said, I began to notice it a couple of weeks ago.  The Peter's Honey has lots of brebas.  The Atreanos were the first of the year-old ones to start leafing out.  Most of the trees are now seeing spring #2, and I was really surprised to see the brebas forming on them this year.

Beautiful!  I've got some serious fig envy now!  :)

Amazing!
I have a Lampeira and l'm waiting for its Breba thanks to a very kind member. It looks like not this year, but I am hoping :-)

I WANT FIGS!!! Just a couple more weeks of cold here it looks like.  Maybe I will get a fig or two this year.
