I have a Sweet Gorge cutting that is growing figs (I think) instead of leaves. Both nodes that are above the potting mix have figs. It is well rooted, but I don't want it putting the energy into fruit this year. How/when should I remove them?

That one is easy, just twist if off.  Sometimes I have them next to a leaf and wait a while so that I don't accidentally damage/break the leaf or leaf bud.

I noticed a small embryo forming on my ucd beall cutting still in moss. No leaves or roots but it was trying to form a fig. I pinched it off. :( Had to.

Thanks Harvey and Hank! They came off much easier than I though they would. Just had to get up the nerver to do it ;)
The leaf buds next to each are starting to swell, now the cutting can put more energy into growth.
