Bringing my fig indoors?

I have an LSU purple in a pot that is about a yard high.  I could go ahead and plant it in the ground but since I've never had a fig in a pot, I thought I'd try it for awhile.  I was wondering if I could bring it in the house and use it as a decorative fig tree during the colder months?  Do any Zone 8ers know when I should bring it inside?  It's in the 50s here lately.

Any thoughts?

If you are bringing indoors in winter than no need for it to go dormant. In this case bring it indoors now.

It might not produce fruits if not allowed to go dormant. The embreyos need chilling time..

I would bring it in but not until the tree had a chance to go dormant and chill a few weeks around 32 degrees or less but not below 25 degrees.  I have a LSU Purple in a container.   It is about 2 feet tall and 4 feet wide and produced a lot of figs.  Last year I let my tree stay outside all winter.  It suffered freezing rain, sleet, snow, and ice and yet it out produced my other figs.  So, let your tree go dormant and I recommend not bringing it in unless the temps drop below 28 degrees.  It will be fine and your will be picking figs in 8 months.  cheers.
