Brogiotto Bianco

Hi guys,
What about this variety?
I couldn't find much information about it here.
I found a 3 meters tree for sale for about $43...
How is the taste? Fruit size?
The tree is imported from italy.

Hi, speed master.
I had a couple of cuttings, not one rooted.

Hi speedmaster.

This variety is one of the most cultivated and appreciated in Italy.
It's considered one of the best italian figs, produces one crop, Gallesio has called him the king of figs.
The peel is green,
and is very thin, that can be eaten.
Gallesio wrote that the tree is the biggest between all varieties, and requires fertile land and is demanding in terms of humidity of the soil.
T
he ripening period is late, in September; weight exceeding 100 grams. It's very sweet and is good for fresh and for drying.

I hope to be as helpful.

Don't know if it will grow in my zone but this fig was on my wish list.   Very old fig.   Time of the romans.

I suspect this has been discussed somewhere on the forum before but does anyone know whether Brogiotto Bianco and Bordissot Blanca are the same fig with Catalan vs. Italian names?  That is what this website seems to indicate:

If so, there is some information on the forum about Bordissot Blanca that would be applicable:

Some friends of mine in Italy have Brogiotto Bianco and they speak highly of it. $43 for 3-meter tree is a steal. If I were you, I would grab it.

Go for it after these recommendations before someone else grabs it.

I guess I should, I will go for it after I get some cash. 100 grams is got to be good.
