Brogiotto Bianco NOT!!!!!!!!

Laughing....completely tickled! I bought this fig tree on eBay last July. I kept it indoors all winter and when Spring came, it just took off! I repotted it fed it and kept watering it. It currently has figs on it and there is one fig that I covered. As I waited, days go by then the fig turns BLACK. It's shaped like Black Maderia but this fig has a tight eye and does not split in the rain. The tag says, Brogiotto Bianco. I checked my records and sent the seller a PM and no reply yet. So, I've decided to post pictures of this tree and ripe fruit for replies on what this fig might be.

If the person who sent me this reads this, please note, I am no way upset. This fig could be one of your prized figs that was mislabeled or lost the tag. All I want is to help identify what it is if possible.

Anybody got an idea what this fig is? Here are pics.

Thanks!

That is a high end fig for sure. Love the leaves. How did it taste

It's not a Brown Turkey, so you probably have a winner.

Oh that looks really nice!

The fig is not Madeira,Preto, because it had red eye when unripe.
The leaves are a little immature so it is not easy to Id looking at leaves.
The ripe fruit,in my opinion looks like ,Noire de Barbentane.
It is my best guess for now but,I am not 100 percent, sure.
It will be a super fig in your warm climate with some rainy climate where the closed eye will be very useful.

Thanks guys. VS, I hope you're right because I don't have NdB in my collection. I just moved the tree up close to my back door for protection.

The ebay seller did contact me and is checking his sources. Again,I'm not mad....just trying to confirm what this fig is if I can.

Dennis:I had Ripe fruits on my Noire de B,and i had a pix of fruits and leaf, but I can't find it in my computer,if i find it ,I will post it,but from what i see,in your pix, that is what you got.

Pretty good guess by Vasile, I think. Here is my NdB, Dennis.

It seems Brogiotto Nero to me.

Looks like Brogiotto Nero to me.

Dennis:Found pixies,of Noire de Barbentane taken last year 2014.
This year was ,damaged badly by last 2 Winters so it is 3 foot in size but no fruits.
See for yourself, how fruits were and how close they were to your tree.
Any way Your fig and my Noire de B,both look resistant to rain while they are ripening.

Thanks guys. Some say Brogiotto Nero and some say Noire de Barbentane. I have several Brogiotto Neros and no Noire de Barbentane. I am hoping this is NdB. The 5 lobe leaf pattern does match NdB based on Hermansur's photo. The ripe I ate was excellent. I look forward to eating more figs. More to come....

My fruits were good tasting too,in fact delicious, and those in 2014 were first fruits that got ripe, on the 3 years old  tree.
It had fruits in 2012 but did not ripe.
This year again it has none, but ,the Winter was extremely cold here.
I am positive the cultivar is top notch when it become mature ,like next year.

Hello,

The leaves looks similar to my Vilolette De Sollies. I will get my NDB next week but even the Figs look a bit like VDsollies. I'll post pictures tomorrow, Cheers Vinny

Hey Vinny, I get nothing in that link.

Congrats Dennis - sure looks super great. Makes me wanna grab the next flight home to be with my figs especially with my son telling me so many yummy ones ripening and he gave up picking them as there are too many ripening. It's kinda boring with no figs contact here in Western Australia -- beginning of spring here.

Maybe it is the tree that produces both light and dark figs and you got the tree from a cutting that produces dark figs first and later a light fig.

Hi,

I've send you a PM.

I don't think it is Brogiotto Nero, as all my immature figs have subtle stripes.
