Your best bet is to ask Bass, hes the one that found that fig and named it.

I have been growing one in a pot for a few years now and I really like it.  Fruit is on the larger size with a red interior.  The eye is semi closed.  Not as tight as latarulla (or latarolla), but it hasnt split for me too much.  Flavor is very good.  Reminds me of atreano but sweeter.

It's one of my favorite white fig. it's very productive and bears large size figs. It's not the earliest to ripen, ripening about a week or two after hardy chicago.

I'm a bit concerned about the confusion with this fig. There was a seller on ebay that was selling cuttings that he called Brooklyn italian white, but it's not the same fig. I hope you got these cuttings from reliable sources.

Hey Bass how would you describe the flavour of the Brooklyn white?

When you ate so many varieties you differentiate the little things in the flavor of the fig. It's very moist with a hint of honey. I don't want to say sweet, obviously a good fig has to be sweet.
My dad has the large tree, my in ground tree was chewed by mice.
Here's how mine used to look like.

Bass,
What is the difference Brooklyn White and Brooklyn White BS?
I got my cuttings from a member of this forum who I believe
got his cuttings from you if my memory is correct.Sorry about
the mice.

The Brooklyn White BS is the same fig that Bass has (I'm guessing) Jon usually has the persons initials behind the cultivar. BS are Bass's initials. Check out the different kinds of Celeste that Jon has, you'll see initials after some of those too.

Does anyone have any idea what variety the ebay seller actually had?  I gues I'll be surprised when they finally fruit.

I bid on some on ebay because they were inexpensive and they were my "practice" cuttings.  They rooted very easily.

Thanks Bass & sorry to hear about your trees. I do remember seing the pics it was the pics that had no bark on the trees right and even one tree disapeared damn rottends.

Bass, besides the color can you tell me the difference between the Brooklyn white and the Brooklyn Dark.

I got the bid on a different Brooklyn White on eBay. The check I sent got lost in the mail.  When the guy wrote me and told me he had not received the check I wrote back and said give it another week to see if it is returned  to me or that you get it.  He got mad at me and turned me over to eBay and I had to explain why I had not paid for the tree.  I sent the guy another check.  This one he got and sent me the plant.  He did not package it well and the top of the plant was broken off.  The tree ended up dying on me.  That was the last time I bid on fig trees from eBay without knowing who I am dealing with.

Vern, The Brooklyn dark is very tasty fig. It has a jelly like texture that I really liked. Unfortunately it's not an early fig and it has been ripening in October for me. However if it is in a pot it will definitely bear sooner than October.

Bass, do you pinch off the brebas on B.White to get an early start on main crop? Thanks.

Bas, thanks for the information on the Brooklyn Dark.  It should do fine in my area of the country.

Vern

This is Breba of Brooklyn white that I supposed. The breba is very big and produce on June in Italy. I campare leaf with figs4fun picture. They are quite similar.
