Brooklyn Whites split?

My two year old Brooklyn Whites produced about 2 dozen figs this year. I keep them inside my green house, so they are protected from rain. (doesn’t rain much here in New Mexico), wind and the hot dry sun. So I was surprised that they all split on me. They split before they were fully ripe. Is this what BW's do?

Brooklyn White from nature-park on eBay will split quickly

no offence to the seller

I don't know who I bought it from, but very disappointed that they split so easily before ripening and they are not getting wet since they are in the greenhouse. Not sure they are worth keeping.

my friend Boris is grafting onto his. instead of pitching it try your hand at grafting.

What would be a good replacement for this Brooklyn white?

some figs will split even if it doesn't get rained on. heavy watering or too much moisture in the air can cause possible issue.. there was one fig that did that to me this yr. when the fig start to swell,  cut down on the watering. also, some figs will split less as the time goes by. as the tree ages, they will handle some issues better, but splitting.

Do you remember what the source for Brooklyn white? As mentioned there are different variants of Brooklyn white. I first gave the name to a fig I collected from Brooklyn. It makes large figs and very productive.
They split only when it constantly rains and the fig can split or crack.
You mention that it splits just from being in the greenhouse and not getting wet. Which makes me wonder how if your greenhouse is too humid.

This is New Mexico, Dry, Dry, Dry. Keeping it in the greenhouse increases the humidity level a little and I don't over water. The other varieties I have haven't split. I maybe missing something here?

maybe the one you have is the other BW that just splits when you look at it too hard. my Paradiso Gene did that last yr. this yr with 3 times more rain and they rarely split.

Bass is correct.  High humidity will cause figs to split.

My Brooklyn White is from Bass it has large figs ,never had one of this figs split on me.Ciao,
Giuseppe

I'm going to give one more chance. If they split in the fall, I will not keep it over the winter.
