Good day everyone,I hope Santa was good to everyone this Christmas!
I received my best present this morning! I was checking on all my rooting cuttings and when I got to my Brunswick tip cutting there was a surprise waiting! This little stick was the very top of my potted tree that I had to cut down about 7 inches to clear my shed ceiling on 11/13 when I put it away for the winter! I stuck it in a zip lock ,wrapped in paper towel, where it spent two weeks on top of my fridge in a shoe box and the rest on top of my pc tower in an uncovered plastic food container along with other baggies! It was planted in the half 2lt soda bottle on 12/16 with significant root tips showing on the very bottom and varying between 1/4 and 1 inch long! Upon last inspection the roots were already showing through the "pot" but the cutting looked 100% dormant! That was on 12/24 late PM! As you see on the pics below one of the under the soil nodes just exploded and pushed right through the soil! I also included a pic that shows that cutting in action and while still attached to the mother tree! Looks like the little fella is on its way;)!Thanks for your time!

Thanks Shailesh , I finnd brunswick a very easy to grow variety but in general I'm having a very good (luck)success rate with all my cuttings this year! I ll keep posting updates!

An easy rooter indeed. Taste excellent if ripens in good weather.

So true Paully,they seam to like the Atlanta climate quite a bit and it is one of my best overall trees!

A nice looking start there!

I have a Brunswick in my yard and it doubles in,size every years. But some reason the breba crop taste really good second not so much. Do you have this issue. Or maybe i dont have,a Brunswick

Hey Richard! I got mine last spring from Home Depot as a large 5-6 foot tree and mislabeled as a Celeste! I knew it was something else even though it was still dormant ,because of the Breba embrios ,the bark color and the general look of it! I assume it is a brunswick by comparing it with photos on other topics of the forum and other member descriptions! This first year it had three Breba figs that got huge but overnight got very soft and dropped! The main crop figs were a bit smaller but still large and very good tasting! Here are some pics of Breba and main crop figs, if you could post a couple of pics of yours to compare! Hope I helped a little! For more info ,run a search on previous topics on " Brunswick".

Thanks mine is dormit but the leaves look the same as yours but my tree the figs stay really green with a carmel colored pulp, i will search the Brunswick post thanks.
