Brunswick Pics

It is not going to win any beauty contests but it Ripened on a small cutting started this year and it has been dry here for the past 3 KS

weight 56 grams
open eye no honey visible
Taste was very good for a fist year fig, sweet with a little crunch and meaty if that makes sense.
The skin was just starting to split I picked because it is about to rain or I would have left on for another day or 2
Thanks for looking

Sal,
I'm sure it will do better for you than in our climate up north. My larger tree produced a good crop and they were large and sweet, but they were watery and I didn't like it much. I got rid of my Brunswick.
I'm sure other growers in the Northeast will have similar comments on the Brunswick.

Sal thanks for sharing the pictures, i dont see many seeds which usually gives the crunch taste i enjoy unless you mean it was firm like as in some types pf apple when you bite into it.

Bass you are absolutely right with just a little rain the fig will not only become watery but spoil and sour I know this from those that ripened in July and August during rains. This is going to be hard for me to trash because it came from my uncle. At this time I don't have any older trees so the little I get i cherish. That decision will be down the road for me
Martin you are also correct not many seeds but a few compared to the white unk I have and tasted just prior. I said meaty not firm it's hard to express what I meant It had texture might be better not hard again if that makes sense
Again if this fig ripens in dry times it is good and a heavy producer with size from what I have come to Observe it is not recommended for my area from what I've read

I think the brick count will be high on this I do have to research that My pallet it not the same as it used to be probably from Meds

Sal, if its special because of it being your uncles, keep it as an ornamental?  You said it doesn't have many seeds,  That is my favorite part when I eat a fresh fig, THE CRUNCH from seeds.  If you have the room maybe just keep because the tree is likely beautiful to look at. Keep like a landscape shrub or flower?  Just what I would do.  Martin sent me an Italian unknown of his, I love how the tree looks so I am keeping it if it doesn't give figs, it is loaded but they didn't have time to ripe.  Martin had this problem, but I will keep anyway, I like the stubby fingers the tree has. I am just a softy.  Ciao Ciao

Maggie your unknown next year will bring figs earlier its young but if it performs like mine they will all drop every year in late august or september thats why i sent to you !  ; )
No really thats what it does they keep dropping and no ripe figs except 1 in four full growing seasons not counting year it rooted.
I did save a small sucker growing in pot before destroying the parent so i guess im softie too.
I give it 1 more chance.

Martin, whatever it does, it is staying!!!!  I love how it looks and it came from you.......... I cant destroy anything from Zio Martin! Ciao
