BT Fresh Figs at Whole Foods

IMG_2778.JPG Saw these Brown Turkey Figs in whole foods today.  Its December 18th and I'm in Massachusetts!  Anyways, I would give them a solid 7.5 or 8 on taste; figgy flavor and nice and juicy.  I couldn't believe how ripe they were.  They were oozing honey in the box.  I wouldn't have known commercially sold fresh figs to be so ripe.  Normally they are always too firm for me to truly enjoy.

That is quite odd.  You're lucky...I'd buy them at this time of year myself!

I've gotten very nice fresh figs at Whole Foods, Shoprite, and a local latino/asian market -- but not in December!  Does the package say where they're from?

What was the price?

I think I'll be checking my local store tomorrow.

WF here gets some really good figs in season, but I only buy them loose by the pound so I can pick and choose the best. I have never seen a clamshell package with figs that look like that. Good find! I just picked my last 2 figs today and put the tree in the garage with all the rest.

I was just at WF last night. I should have checked their produce isle.

IMG_2773.JPG They came from California, it says Gless Ranch Inc.

Wow, I have never seen a BT look so good.  Never thought I would consider making a run to the grocery store to get some Brown Turkey figs.

Ha, ha, me either, but I'm gonna see if ours has any, those look delicious, but mostly, it's a long time until July.

Hmmm...can't make out the fine print on the packaging.  It say Produced by "somebody" for Gless Ranch, Coachella CA.  It says "product of USA", which in this case invariably means southern or central California.  What a wonderful place.

My WF "Can't get them"  I'm boycotting.
