Bteghrine Lebanon Web Site

I had intended to post something about this awhile back but just kept putting it off.

This is not very fig specific but I find it very interesting since this is where that Haikel Lebanese fig comes from that I found (in KY) in winter of '09.

There are some stunning images on this site with many showing the propensity for snow during the winter months. I've been told that this mountainous region is zone 6.

Of particular interest is this one picture. If you look closely at the lower right foreground you will see what appears to be the top of a fig tree with leaves and some green figs visible  :)  .
The picture being referred to is the second one down in the full size pics on the right:   http://www.bteghrine.com/Valley.htm

Here is the link to the page with more pictures:  http://www.bteghrine.com/pictures.htm

And, for convenience, here is the Bteghrine home page:  http://www.bteghrine.com/

Lots of pics to look at on that site. Hope you all enjoy them.

Thanks for sharing these photos Bill. It's most likely zone 7, it's colder on higher elevations for sure. These are beautifull photos.

Thanks for posting.
It is taking me hours to watch all the nice scenes with so many nested links.
I will come back to it to see more.

Thank you Bill.  I greatly enjoyed these as well.

I have many good friends from Lebanon, so I will share these with them as well.

Greatly appreciated my friend.

John

You all are very welcome. I had been really enjoying the site and was sure that many of you would too. Especially the images.

You can tell that whoever was taking these pictures must have really loved the place.

Glad you all are enjoying it.
