I removed the buds of the lower portion of the cuttings - it would be turned into roots, so in this VdB, I removed the bud, and grafted another identical but with roots. The bud went to another cutting that was rooting (my root stock cutting).

After all grafted as tight as possible I put them to rest in their sweat chamber ( a plastic salad container with tight lid) in warm location.

It has been 5 days now for the VdB triplets - the root stock are  getting closer to send out roots and I noticed the root piece grafted in place of the bud has 1/2" white new root and also a tiny crack white line in one of the buds - good indication?   Only time will tell, but I think they like being warm and moist.

On another, I applied hormone where I removed the bud, so, no loss, it should send out roots in the area.
Crossed fingers here!
