Here's the breba on the Calabrese fig. As you see it is very long and large. Will update you with the ripe fig photo.
Thanks for sharing this great picture.I have some brebas on the Italian Honey and Hardy Chicago here in Zone 7b, but for Zone 6 these are really making some good progress.Hope you have great season this year.Best wishes.JohnGeorgia PiedmontZone 7b
Thats a nice looking breba so far, cant wait to see pictures of what main crop looks in and out and a description of taste.
Bass, I have one called Zucchini fig. The breba look like little Zucchinis. Belleclares used to carry it.
I will keep you updated on this fig. It came originally from Calabria, Italy. I got it from my neighbor who brought it from there and planted it in his yard.
I have an Italian everbearing that I got from willis that has brebas very similar to yours. Will post pictures tomorrow. However last year when the main figs ripened they were very celeste like. Which dosent make much sense because any celeste I have ever grown had no breba crop
Bass, here are the leaves of my Zucchini Fig.
The fig from the earlier photo was picked today. It was pretty long... flavor was sweet, It should have been a little riper, but was still very good.
I dont have a ripe pic, but here is a green one.
Jose thats great it really does look like a zucchini in that pic.
Bass, That's a nice looking fig. Do keep us updated.
Ed, I suspect my Willis Italian Everbearing and Willis Black Jack are both Celeste.
Jose, that Zucchini does look similar.
My Calabrese long has some figs on it this year. Looking forward to trying it.

are the type is common?
Here is a photo of a main crop fig of my Melanzana Calabrese it is a "common type" fig. It looks like the same as this one by Bass. My fig is also grown extensively in Calabria but is said to originate from Turkey. People also tell me it looks the same as Lounge D'Aout. Regardless it is a super tasting fig.
